Sweet Sunny Saturday #9 and French Street Jazz

How many posts have you read in the last two weeks? Have you implemented any of the tips explained in them?

Most of you know I am a doer, and I want you to be like that. Instead of reading and saying “wow, I have to try this”, bookmark and never come back, I want you to start doing something.

organize blog

I did several things I read about last week. It improved my traffic in matter of days. It organized my time better. It fixed my writing about 1% (I didn’t say I can do all at once, lol).

Here are the best posts from the previous two weeks. I applied some of the things I learned in them. Or some of them, I simply like.

Organize yourself and your RSS reader

I do have to stress out one post that, for me, marked the previous two weeks. I learned so much from it, I organized myself better… How I organize Google Reader for blog commenting by Kristi Hines.

I organized my reader and I am finally being able to follow up with all blogs I like. I also got a lesson on how to be organized. I not only set up my RSS reader, I figured out how to organize some other things.

Keyword research, link building, SEO

If you are in blogging for the money, you definitely need to climb up the Search Engine results. How better to do it then analyze your competition? Free Competition Keyword Research will show you how to do it in details.

When you are done with that, you will need to do some link building. Alex tells us what are the 8 best free link building tools.

Traffic generation

Here is a really interesting post I read the other day. It is about creating free traffic and I love the way info is presented and explained – Free Traffic Getting Methods.

Improving your blog

Corbett knows his stuff and I strongly suggest not to miss 21 Quick Actions for Massive Blog Success.

And once you get through those 21 actions, it will be time to design some graphics - 8 Simple Attention Grabbing Graphics.

Although the title mentions beginner bloggers, this is for all of usHow to keep your blogging sanity. I must say that after reading that post, I realized I fail in most of those, lol.

Don’t be a jerk! No one likes one! So while you are keeping your sanity, make sure you don’t get on Mufasa’s nerves since he might call  you out, lol. Marcus wrote a magnificent post about 9 things he learned from the biggest blogging jerk ever.

Making money

Francisco has a great post on his blog about testing new money makers, definitely worth checking out Trial and Error of Making Money Online.

Another very interesting post about making money is How Matt Poc made his first $1.000 online in 23 days.

Sell More Products with Great E-mail Subject Lines by Jason Tweed will explain how to and how not to write your subject lines.

Danny Brown

We know Danny Brown as a blogging and business genius and he demonstrates it again, explaining Why a Blog Disclaimer is Important as Disclosure.

Another great post he wrote is The Only Way to Know is to Ask.

And I would not want you to miss this awesome one – If Twitter Went Back to the Drawing Board, some great ideas how Twitter should be improved.

We Blog Better is running a great contest now (you can still join to win $1.200). These are two posts published till now, that I simply loved.

Stealing from Kristi – again

I love how Kristi always has something interesting in her round ups, so as every serious blogger, I am just gonna steal her idea. I will be adding some interesting things to these round ups, just to finish sweet and sunny :)

This time, it is a really cool song to get your spirit up. It lifts me up every time I see this video! Filled with energy! The song is in French and here are the lyrics :)

  1. Hey Bran, love the depth of your Saturday posts, the one by Corbett was pretty stinking awesome. You could tell the guy really poured some effort into that one.

And Kristi…wow, that gal is amazing. She’d have to be super organized to get done what she’s able to do.

And thanks so much for mentioning Mufasa’s post ;-) That guy is kinda dorky, but hey, a cool cat nonetheless ;-)

    Have a great weekend bud,

    Marcus

  2. Hey,
Aren’t you the sweetest! This guest post contest and publicizing is tougher than I imagined. Glad I have people like you to help me out! Thanks so much :)

    • Brankica says:

Hajra, I spent so much time on promoting that contest post it wasn’t even funny. But the fact that yours is so great will sure help you run to the first place :)

      • I am stuck at 160 comments! :( Hope your constant support with this post will help get me there!

        • Brankica says:

It is time to start promoting it with Comment Luv, you need to attach that post to your comment luv and go comment on blogs like crazy. I think I made more than 100 comments like that! Especially on blogs whose owners haven’t commented on it yet.

Send me your e-mail, I will tell you what to do :)

  3. Ive been addicted to Zaz ever since you turned me onto her. She has an awesome album out.

  4. Thanks, Bran, for featuring my guest post (Free Traffic Getting Methods) at TechNshare. I’m really grateful.

BTW, I enjoyed the music – gone checking out + translating the lyrics.

Enjoy the rest of the sweet, sunny Saturday:)

    • Brankica says:

Hey Stella, I really liked your post, it totally deserved to be on the list :)

Oh, I am so glad you like the song, I am so addicted to it!

  5. Bernardo says:

    Wow Brankica!
There is soo much good stuff in this post that I don’t know where to begin.
Here are two things I love about it.
    1) you took the time to do a lot of reading & doing I’m sure in order to be able to share all these action packed resources.
    2) Rather than trying to write the biggest post in history you are adding your suggestions and also referring us to other really interesting sites.
I’m new to your blog but definitely plan to come back for more.
You left me with a ton of good “homework”

    Un Abrazo,
    Bernardo

    • Brankica says:

Hey Bernardo, I really try to keep this link post (which is posted every 2 weeks on my blog) a good one because all the posts I mention here deserve to be read. I hope I am able to get people to click through at least some of them, because most of them are writing about things that can really improve our blogging.

Glad to see you on my blog and hope to see you back often :)

  6. Hi Brankica,
Now I think I know that how you can create so much inspired posts for this blog. It is all about Jazz, isn’t it?

    Just kidding :D

I am a BIG fan of Jazz, too. My favorite singers are Norma Winstone and Norah Jones :) This is the first time I have listened to Zaz. And yet, I have been addicted to her voice, and her performance too.

Thank you for telling us another great Jazz singer and of course, thanks for this post which causes 6 new must-read tabs in my browser

    Regards,
    Tho Huynh

    • Brankica says:

Tho, you will hate me if I tell you that I am not really a fan of jazz. But this girl and the band are so good that you must like them, lol.

Only 6 tabs!? Ha ha, just kiddin’, sorry for keeping you busy for the weekend but I bet they were really good posts you chose :)

  7. Hi Brankica. Thanks for putting in a lot of effort on this post as it is jammed packed with so many awesome articles that for some reason I missed out. I’m starting with Matt Poc first (lol) and them move on to the SEO ones that I missed. Thanks a million for including my post here, really appreciate it. muitissimo obrigado..

    • Brankica says:

Francisco, you are more than welcome, you totally deserve to be on this list. I actually owe you, cause I missed some great ones you had without linking to them!

      Thanks for being a friend!

  8. Hey. Branicka. Thanks for showing my post love. I really appreciate it.

  9. Hi Brankica

What took me so long to get over here when I know you post on a Saturday??!! Well, I actually took some time off Saturday as it was a beautiful sunny day here and away from the laptop with it being Mother’s Day yesterday. And I’ve sent you an email with all the project work accomplished since last time we spoke. My mentor should be impressed ;-)

And now there are some great posts to read so maybe I’ll just take a break and go read some of them. Thanks for some really great recommendations and the challenge to get on and do :-)

    Patricia Perth Australia

    • Brankica says:

Your mentor is impressed and so proud of you :)

Hey, I know you always catch up with all the important stuff!

  10. Hi Brankica,

Thanks for sharing my post in this round up :) It’s a real honor.

You have a huge amount of resources here and my list of to-dos just got way much longer :) I had a good laugh at Corbett’s post on 21 Quick Actions when #1 was build a list in 20-30 minutes. It took me a month to get around to doing that and half a day to figure out how to setup autoresponders. I had heard MailChimp is great but it wasn’t working for me and support basically got cut off half way through our chat. It probably wasn’t for me but it doesn’t mean that it’s not great for someone else!

His last point Get Some Accountability is what I offer on my blog for bloggers. So feel free to jump in if you want some of that :)
Ok back to taking some action:)

  11. I think orgnazing your Google Reader in better always saves your precious time. I too don’t have organized list in Google Reader but I’m going to do it right now. Thanks for suggesting such useful post from Kristi.

  12. Hi Brankica,

I’m actually looking to increase the visits on my blog and I know all these posts are important for me in some way. I’ll really try to implement all these steps but I know it’s not a great way. I should take action step by step.

  13. Wow, Danny Brown gets his own little section, that had to cost a pretty penny. Loved the blogger animals, as I posted there I’m a hybrid… part flamingo, gorilla, warthog. Stealing from Kristi, always a smart idea. Plenty for me to read and learn.. thanks as always. FWIW.

    • Brankica says:

Davina, for a small fee you can have your own section too. Of course you don’t get the “Danny Brown discount” but that is the price of not being THE Danny.

You make me LOL in the best way possible with every comment you post. You and Bill Dorman are the two coolest people to have as commenters on a blog :)

Well hybrid, thanks for supporting my theft, it’s not my fault Kristi always has great ideas!!!

      • Hee.. I’ll start saving up for my own section. Thanks for the LOL… I must agree – Bill’s a hoot and a half that’s for sure. Have you met Howie @ SPM around yet? He can rock a comment thread like noboby’s bidness! Anyway .. love these weekly recap posts, so helpful.
