Let’s get this over with before the end of the world
You know by now that I don’t list the posts here by significance. Sometimes I will write a post and link to all the great posts, sometimes I will just list them.
But this post is number 1 in so many ways and makes me proud to be a Site Build It user – Take the Google Mindset Test. It is all you need to know about Google.
Social Media
5 social media mistakes you don’t want to make and look like an amateur.
Everything you ever needed for Twitter – Most complete Twitter app list!
SEO
Use free alerts for link discovery is an interesting post about using alerts to discover when people are talking about you, your brand and whatever else you might be interested in.
How to turn your Twitter into a SEO magnet.
Making money online
Steve Scott is definitely one of my top favorites and you know it by now. He nailed it again with a great post – 22 tasks to increase internet income.
Blogging
This post really resonated with me because I have the same opinion for the most part – What I learned wasting a year on blogging. Blogging itself doesn’t bring money as most people still try to persuade you. The vast majority of bloggers that are making money online (me included) do it in different ways and the blog itself is not THE money maker.
Top 10 reasons your blog is still a sad little sideshow is a really entertaining post but at the same time it will help you realize if you are doing things right.
Another great hit from Social Mouths is Creating a post that will go viral. Although we know that it is hard to create viral stuff on purpose there are some tips here that will actually prove us wrong
Fun part
Last time I introduced a really cool band with a video here and this time I have something different. While everyone is worried about the end of the world, which I am not, and I am sick and tired of those “predictions”, there are creatures on this Earth that don’t worry about stuff like that
Here is Princess, a chimpanzee I played with several times in Africa , while I was there in the peace keeping mission. I always loved her friendliness and innocence.

Hope you have a great weekend ahead of you and don’t hesitate to send me links to great posts you read so I can include them here. That goes for your own posts as well. Juts make sure they rock

Hi Brankica
Thank you for the list. I am sure there is a lot I can learn from those posts so they will be bookmarked for later use. Nice monkey too
I think there is a pretty good change that we are here tomorrow as well
Hey Thomas, I think I survived at least 20 world ends since I was a kid, ha ha. And the world can’t end yet, cause I have stuff to do next week!
I know what you mean. If the world was coming to an end today I would not have used any time on my laundry today. I think that is a clear sign that it is not going to happen
Hi Brancika. The little one is so cute. The camera angle makes him look like he’s “reading” the banana instead of peeling it.
I really enjoyed the post on Social Mouths and he did a good job with making the Facebook post go viral – even though I still don’t get the whole need for iFrames. Facebook has a very strange way of making people work hard to grow their Fan Pages without buying ads.
I mean “Brankica” opps!
Lol, you are right about the reading part. I loved that monkey, I used to bring her peanuts and bananas all the time, she was so cuddly.
When it comes to iFrames, I found them easy to work with cause it is basically just HTML but the thing you mention always makes me wonder – I don’t understand how come it is so hard to get many FB fans
PS If it is any easier, you can call me Pit, that is my nickname, although I really don’t mind the misspelling
Brankica,
Great resource you’re sharing here. oh chimpanzee looks so cute. Just read the keith’s post about wasting a year on blogging. He made some valid points about blogging.
Thanks for sharing this great resource.
Hey Devesh, more than welcome. His post really “hit me in the head” because having experience in both running an online business and a blog, I can completely relate to him and what blogging is (or isn’t).
Great list Pit
Steve’s post is my favorite and it got to my round up list this week too! I am now off to read Keith’s post.
Cheers,
Jane.
Hey Jane, I love what Steve does cause I (like him) did not start as a blogger.
I think it is very different when you start online as a blogger and learn along the way, while most of us that are into niche sites and internet marketing have some different opinions on stuff.
Keith’s post is really awesome, I feel the same way he does.
Alas, I must agree, my blog itself doesn’t make me (passive) money, but it does bring me work and act as a showpiece for potential clients.
I actually just picked up a client last week from some Google longtail search action so it does pay off, just not directly
Also, that chimpanzee has reminded me of something I meant to learn to do years ago, namely drink water with my feet…
Lol, John, you better send me a pic when you manage to do that. That will be hilarious. On second thought, I am off to try it now
Oh I am so in love with these series of yours. Just can’t get enough. I am commenting like crazy these days (for obvious reasons!) and I just have to keep finding a lot more bloggers to come back to my guest post. These links are very useful, I end up learning a lot too along the way, am having so much fun!
So, you want to be the Comment Queen; does Ms D know this?
I wish I could copy my Google Reader to yours, I think there are dozens of great blogs to comment on, but just follow these links and once you make a comment follow other commentators’ links and you will be good!
Brankica, thanks so much for including my post about Wasting A Year on Blogging! I only just recently discovered your site through a tweet from someone (can’t remember who now, but it shows that sharing really works!), and I didn’t see this post yesterday because it was really sunny here and I was on the beach
The amazing thing is once I realized where I was going wrong, I started writing more again, knowing I was doing it for little or no money…. but I picked up so much work I am covered up in client work and my own businesses now!
Thanks again for the mention!
Hey Keith, your post really struck a cord with me cause I am a big fan of static niche sites. And I build them to be big, not just some micro sites. I do everything I plan and after a few months they make passive income. With blogging it is so different. I had no clue what I am getting myself into, lol.
Hey you, I’ve basically been out of the loop since Thursday afternoon and it feels like a lifetime in this world. I’ve been trying to catch up w/ my friends and I’m sure I’ve left some out but hopefully they will understand. I’m just not organized enough to keep track of everything and usually only see it if it’s right in front of me. But’s that par for the course from me, huh?
Some of the posts I have read and others I will have to get back to……hopefully……….:).
I hope you are all well now and Atlanta didn’t get caught up in the rapture and you can still go see the Bravo’s this month. Talk to you soon.
Hey Bill, I see you survived the end of the world
I know how you feel about catching up, I can do less and less lately, lol, but I guess life does get in the way sometimes !
I have just read the “How to turn your Twitter into a SEO magnet” post. Damn I learned a lot from that one. Thanks for sharing it Pit
I dont know if I mentioned that I love the redesign (both blog and the new pic). I also love the pics of Princess
I’ve read Francisco’s viral post…its great stuff…thnx
Some great reads, as always Bran. One thing i really like about your Saturday posts is the fact that you expose me to so many blogs I’m not currently reading. Thanks and have a great week!
Marcus
Many thanks Brankica for featuring Melissa’s post in your excellent round up, it is indeed an honour to have a post from my humble blog listed in such prestigious company
Tony
Hey Tony, that post definitely deserves to be here, I really loved it. Any time you have a post that you think should be included here, feel free to send me a link. There are two rules I follow here:
1. post must be great
2. must be published after the last round up.
That is about it
Thanks for sharing these Brankica… Will have to take some more time and go back through them. I do love it when you share really cool stuff with us.
Love the photo of the chimp. You are right, he’s so innocent. I had a friend ask me what I was doing on the day it was suppose to come to an end. I don’t listen to that baloney. Heck, I was shopping without a care in the world and lived to see yet another day. Shock, shock!!!
I ate so many ribs that day that in one moment I wished the world came to an end just so I don’t die by exploding from too much food, I kid you not!!!
Yum, yum, yum.. Ribs, my favorite!!! Dang girl, now I’m hungry!!! But hey, glad you survived. I don’t think you exploding would have been a pretty site at all.
We would miss you if you were gone!
