Magnificent 7 – Blog Posts of October 2012

magnificent 7 october 2012

I loved doing my previous series but when I got tired of blogging for a while it was one of the things I dropped. Well, I just loved doing it and I am adding it back.

Why is “Magnificent 7 Blog Posts of the month” different?

Well, it will be a monthly issue and will contain only 7 blog posts.

I don’t want to do it more often because I never know how much reading I will be able to do with all the other non blogging things going on and my offline business.

And 7 because I like the number and I think it will be the perfect size to give you enough information you can implement in the next month without overwhelming you.

The topics will be related to the topic of my blog, of course and I invite you to send me your suggestions. I will publish this post on the 31st of the month in question or 1st of the next one. So you know when to expect it :)

Now that I explained it all, let’s get busy. Posts are listed in no particular order!

Facebook

10 Tips to Increase the Facebook Business Page Reach from Top Experts – I have to admit this was the first time I ran into this blog, but I am glad I did. He gathered a great list of bloggers and social media experts that share their best Facebook tips. Something you can put to work easy, so get going ;)

12 Latest Facebook Page Features You Might Have Missed – No way you won’t find at least one you missed. I am glad I went through this list and learned a few new things because it made my Facebook page managing easier and more effective.

Blogging/Writing

A Simple Plan for Writing a Powerful Blog Post in Less Than 2 Hours – I just loved this because Neil is explaining the process using this very post as an example. There is a great tip to help you never run out of blog ideas and write great posts in shorter time.

A Blogger’s Dictionary: First Edition – This is hilarious but at the same time very educational. You will have a great time reading it and learning about some blogging dos and don’ts.

Google Analytics

5 Goals Every Blogger Should Set Up in Google Analytics – It took me 5 minutes to set these up so I definitely think there is no excuse not to do it. At the same time, you will be doing yourself a big favor, because getting so much info from a free tool is possible only with Google Analytics. And knowing your blog’s data will help you decide what are the next steps to take!

Trademarks

Answers to Your Frequently Asked Trademark Questions – You have to read this and learn the important basics of trademarks and protecting your business, while not using other peoples’ trademarks.

Conversions

These 5 Squeeze Page Tricks Have Helped Me Get Up To 58.6% Opt-In Rates – Great post with actionable steps you can start implementing straight away. I actually picked up a few ideas from it and plan to put them to work in a small project I am working on now. Definitely try at least one of these, you will get results for sure.

There you go, the Magnificent 7 of this month. You can put all these to good use before the next issue is out and take one step at a time to keep improving your blog.

  2. I love these posts and am thinking of doing them more often as well. I did one like this just this week as you know and I do run across great posts all the time.

Glad it’s back and now I get to read a few posts I would have not seen before so thank you for that Brankica.

    Now, enjoy your weekend girl.

    • Not sure if you remember, I had a biweekly series with anywhere from 7 to 20 posts I linked to. I loved doing it but now that I don’t have time to read as much I could not keep up, since I only want to link to those that are really, really useful and actionable so you can get something out of it. But you read way more than I do at the moment and I totally recommend doing it cause it is so much fun!

  3. Hi Brankica,

I found this via Adrienne Smith – a great collection of posts. I particularly enjoyed the blogger’s dictionary and Neil’s article about writing blog posts, which has some really practical tips.

Thank you very much for pulling this collection together,

    • Thanks so much Sue, and glad to see you here, Adrienne always sends me the best people :) Hope you come back often and that you can put these to good use.

  4. Thanks for sharing these awesome posts Brankica.

These articles are packed with great information. I particularly like the one about 5 squeeze page tricks as lately I’ve been writing a lot about conversion on my blog as well.

I really enjoy seeing other peoples take on conversion and increasing conversion on your blog / website.

Thanks again for sharing these posts and giving more ideas of content to write for my blog.

  5. Love these types of posts! It’s time consuming to vet all these blogs and get to the good ones so when someone else does the work for me and tells me the good ones to read, I’m all for it :) Plus I usually get introduced to some cool new bloggers. there are a few that struck my interest for sure. Will check them out so thanks for sharing!
